Department History

The Wickliffe Rural Volunteer Fire Department is completely made-up of firefighters who volunteer their time towards protecting you!

Wickliffe Rural Volunteer Fire Department was formed after a structure fire took place on County Farm Road which is outside the city limits.  The City Fire Department responded to the fire, but because the residence was outside the city limits the city fire department did not attempt to extinguish the fire and stood by to watch the residence burn down.

After this incident took place, citizens of the Wickliffe Rural Area came together to form what is now known as the Wickliffe Rural Volunteer Fire Department.

We go "Beyond the call" in protecting you.
